The developers behind the Q4OS Linux kernel-based operating system, an open-source distro built on top of the Debian GNU/Linux OS, have informed Softpedia today, June 6, 2016, about the availability of Q4OS 1.4.11.

Q4OS 1.4.11 is the eleventh update to the current stable series (Orion) of the Debian-based distribution, bringing more enhancements and fixing the nasty issues reported by users since the previous maintenance build, version 1.4.10, announced two weeks ago, on May 22, 2016.

Among the highlights of the Q4OS 1.4.11 point release, we can mention that those who use Nvidia graphics cards should notice much-improved detection for certain GPUs, and it also looks like the installation of the Nvidia proprietary video driver will work much better after applying this new update.

Users are urged to update as soon as possible

Besides improving the Nvidia experience for Q4OS users, the distribution's developers have informed us that they tried to improve the Welcome screen configurator of the Start Menu properties. Of course, many other small issues have been fixed as well, so it is important that you update as soon as possible.

Q4OS 1.4.11 "Orion" has been released today for all supported hardware architectures, including 64-bit (x86_64), 32-bit (i686 or i386), and ARMhf (ARM hard-float). The Raspberry Pi edition of Q4OS has been updated as well, and you can download the new ISOs right now via our website or directly from the distro's homepage, where you'll find all the information you'll need to get started with this OS.

Please note that the new ISOs are only needed if you plan on deploying the OS on new hardware, or for new users of this Debian-based GNU/Linux operating system that used the Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) as default desktop interface. Existing users need to make sure their installations are up to date, always.
