Today, May 23, 2016, the Q4OS development team has informed Softpedia about the immediate availability for download of a new stable update for their GNU/Linux operating system, Q4OS 1.4.10 "Orion."

The last update for the Orion branch was released in the first week of April 2016, based on the Debian GNU/Linux 8.4 "Jessie" operating system, the latest Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE), and introducing the Bourbon Start Menu, a two-panel, highly customizable Applications menu.

Today's update, Q4OS 1.4.10, adds even more improvements and tweaks to the Bourbon Start Menu, as well as other cool new features that have been requested by users system Q4OS 1.4.9. For example, a new script that lets them easily switch between Q4OS' menu structure and category.

Another interesting feature implemented in the Q4OS 1.4.10 "Orion" operating system is support for automatic detection of Nvidia graphics cards after installation, along with the "qinst-ipvideo" script that promises to make it easy for users to install the latest Nvidia proprietary video drivers.

Q4OS 1.4.x "Orion" users are urged to update as soon as possible

Also new in Q4OS 1.4.10 "Orion" update released earlier today is a fix for an annoying issue that users reported with the logout dialog, which was displayed with a delay. Of course, many internal components have also been updated to their latest stable versions, including the Trinity Desktop Environment.

Those of you who are using Q4OS 1.4.9 or a previous release from the Orion stable series are urged to apply all the available updates from the operating system's software repositories if they want to receive the goodies mentioned in this article. On the other hand, newcomers can download the Q4OS 1.4.9 Live ISO images right now via our website.
