After announcing the release of the DebEX KDE Linux distribution and the availability of a custom Linux 4.2 kernel for Ubuntu- and Debian-based operating systems, Arne Exton is now happy to inform us about the immediate availability for download of the GNOME edition of his DebEX Linux distribution.

Based on the latest Debian GNU/Linux 8.1 (Jessie) operating system, DebEX GNOME Build 150831 is built around the GNOME 3.14 and MATE 1.8.2 desktop environments. It comes with the latest long-lived Nvidia 352.41 proprietary video driver, as well as the Google Chrome web browser, which makes it possible to watch Netflix movies on a GNU/Linux distribution.

"I have made a new extra version of DebEX, which I call DebEX Gnome Live DVD. It’s a pure Debian system. It uses Gnome 3.14 and Mate 1.8.2 as Desktop environments," says Arne Exton. "Gnome 3.14 is winning back disillusioned Linux users. I have installed Nvidia’s proprietary graphic driver 352.41 in this new version of DebEX. Furthermore, Google Chrome to make it possible to watch Netflix movies."

All installed apps have been updated to their latest versions

As expected, all the applications contained in the DebEX GNOME Build 150831 operating system have been updated to their latest versions available as of August 31, 2015. Just like the KDE edition of DebEX Linux, the new DebEX GNOME build is powered by Arne Exton's special kernel 4.1.0-3-exton, which is equivalent to the stable Linux kernel 4.1.3 LTS. The default language is English.

Download DebEX GNOME Edition Build 150831 right now from Softpedia, where the OS is distributed as a Live DVD ISO image that supports only 64-bit hardware architectures. There you will also find the KDE and Barebone editions of the DebEX Linux distribution, built around the KDE 4.14.3/KDE Plasma 5 and Xfce 4.12 desktop environments, respectively.
