Canon EOS M10 and Canon EOS Rebel T6 are also supported

A new stable version of the open-source and cross-platform darktable RAW image editor has been released, namely version 2.0.6, which brings support for new digital cameras, as well as a bunch of improvements over the previous maintenance update.

According to the release notes, the most prominent features of the darktable 2.0.6 update are the support for non-mosaiced RAW image files that contain four RGBA channels (Alpha ones are automatically discarded) and the use of the libexiv2 library for writing metadata for the JPEG format writer component.

Now for the better news for fans of open source RAW image processing, darktable 2.0.6 introduces support for a lot of digital cameras, among which we can mention Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, Canon EOS 1300D, Canon EOS Kiss X80, Canon EOS Rebel T6, Canon EOS M10, Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II, and Canon PowerShot G9 X.

Furthermore, the Fujifilm X-T2, GITUP GIT2, Panasonic DMC-FZ18 (supports both 16:9 and 3:2 formats), Panasonic DMC-FZ50 (supports both 16:9 and 3:2 formats), Pentax K-1, Sony DSLR-A380, Sony ILCE-6300, and Nikon D500 digital cameras are also supported, and there are also white level improvements to other Nikon models.

New white balance presets, bug fixes

Continuing with the good news, darktable 2.0.6 introduces a bunch of new white balance presents, this time for the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, Canon EOS 1300D, Canon EOS Kiss X80, Canon EOS Rebel T6, Canon EOS M10, Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II, Fujifilm X-T10, Sony ILCE-6300 digital cameras.

Last but not least, multiple issues reported by users since the previous darktable release have been addressed, and among the most important ones, we can mention a couple of OpenCL bugs, an issue with the NikonDecoder component, and a Bayer pattern problem for Olympus SP570UZ.
