A major release that brings lots of enhancements

A new version of the popular darktable open-source RAW image editor software for Linux and Mac OS X operating systems was made available on June 9, and it is an important release that adds many improvements and support for new cameras.

According to the attached changelog, darktable 1.6.7 fixes an a security issue (CVE-2015-3885) with the libraw library related to an integer overflow in the ljpeg_start() function, improves support for exporting images to the Facebook social network, addresses various issues with interpolation, and cleans up the demosaic code.

Furthermore, better support for handling very small images in the slideshow has been added in darktable 1.6.7, which improves the detection of Olympus lens, adds a modern method of handling the display profile in OS X, patches several minor memory leaks, and removes the deprecated Pentax (K-x) DNG preview code.

In addition to the improvements mentioned above, darktable 1.6.7 adds support for new digital cameras, including Nikon D7200, supporting both 12bit and 14bit compressed NEF file formats, Nikon Coolpix P340, Canon EOS 750D, Canon EOS 760D, Canon EOS M2, Panasonic DMC-CM1, Panasonic DMC-GF7 (4:3 only), Olympus XZ-10, Olympus SP570UZ, Samsung NX500, and Fuji F600EXR.

New aspect ratios have been added for the Pansonic DMC-G5, Panasonic DMC-GM5, and Panasonic FZ200 digital cameras, and new white balance presets are supported in the Nikon D7200, Nikon Coolpix P340, Panasonic DMC-GM1, Panasonic DMC-GM5, Olympus E-M10 (updated), Olympus E-PL7, and Olympus XZ-10 cameras.

Last but not least, darktable 1.6.7 supports new noise profiles for the Canon Powershot G9 and Sony A350 cameras, as well as new basecurves for the Nikon D7200, Nikon D7000, Nikon D750, and Nikon D90 digital cameras.
