Dark Souls 3 has just received an official release date for Japan, as it has been revealed that the game will reach the PS4 and Xbox One on March 24, 2016 in the Asian country. A special network test phase has also been confirmed to take place between October 16 and 18, 2015. Western and PC dates are unknown as of yet.

Dark Souls 3 is eagerly awaited by the franchise’s millions of fans, as developer From Software promises to deliver even more great things with this third chapter in the challenging role-playing game saga.

After sharing some videos and details in recent months, especially at events like E3 2015 or Gamescom 2015, Bandai Namco and From Software have confirmed ahead of the Tokyo Games Show 2015 edition an actual release date for Dark Souls 3.

Dark Souls 3 is making its debut next March

The long awaited RPG is set to make its debut on March 24, 2016, in its native country Japan, across PS4 and Xbox One.

Unfortunately for fans in Western territories like North America or Europe, a release date for their areas isn’t available just yet. If we look at release schedules for past installments, it’s safe to assume that Dark Souls 3 will launch worldwide during the end of March.

Besides the release date, 4Gamer, via NeoGAF, also confirms that there will be a PS4 network test phase on October 16, 17, and 18. It’s unclear if the trial phase will also take place in Western territories, but given the fact that From Software’s past title, Bloodborne, also got a global test phase ahead of its actual launch, it’s quite likely that the same strategy is in place for Dark Souls 3.

You can expect to hear much more about Dark Souls 3 and its upcoming debut on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in the following days or weeks, depending on how forthcoming Bandai Namco and From Software are with the details.
