New autocorrect bug replaces the word “it” to “I.T.”

iOS 11 has so far been a roller coaster for iPhone users, as updates consisted of a mix of releases where some refined performance of the operating system and others introduced bugs you couldn’t even imagine they existed.

An example of such a bug is now making the rounds, as it turns out that some iPhone models that are running iOS 11 unexpectedly replace the word it with I.T. in typed text. The bug also seems to replace is with I.S. as you can see for yourselves in the video below.

There’s no word on what causes the bug and Apple is yet to acknowledge it just yet, but as a temporary workaround, users can automatically configure the keyboard from Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement to provide the correct suggestion when trying to type it or is.

iOS 11 bugs

This isn’t the first time iOS 11 is hit by such a weird typing bug, and Apple will most likely release an update to fix it in the coming weeks, though this is again living proof of the poor experience that users are getting in the new version of mobile operating system.

At this point, not everyone seems to be affected by this typing bug. The video below is made on an iPhone X, but we couldn’t reproduce the issue on our iPhone X units here at Softpedia. Also, older models like the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and iPhone 6s showed no sign of such a bug during our tests.

iOS 11 is considered to be one of the buggiest releases so far, with iPhone owners reporting all kinds of issues, from battery drain and lag to app crashes and unexpected device freezes.

Apple is expected to release iOS 11.2 update to devices in the production ring by the end of the year, and hopefully, a fix for this typing issue would be included as well.
