So much for that rumor claiming Susan Sarandon was hooking up with Jake Gyllenhaal on the down-low. A new report in Radar Online claims the actor is now dating “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Dakota Johnson, with whom he was previously linked in the press way back in 2011.

The 2 were spotted on a romantic date last week, at an exclusive club in Los Angeles that’s admittedly so exclusive it doesn’t even have a name. Seriously.

Jake and Dakota are going strong again

The two actors were first linked romantically in 2011, when they reportedly went on a couple of dates. Though they hit it off, they didn’t pursue things, presumably because of work: as today, Jake was busy with a variety of projects and didn’t have much time for a personal life.

Dakota’s career was yet to take off: it only did so after she appeared in this year’s “Fifty Shades of Grey,” the big-screen adaptation of the first novel in E.L. James’ best-selling but critically panned trilogy of novels.

Whatever happened in 2011 to keep them from going out together on other dates, rumor has it that Jake was left feeling as if Dakota was the one who got away.

No more of this now, as Radar says they’re finally an item. Jake has been single since before he started shooting “Southpaw,” while she recently split with on-and-off beau Matthew Hitt.

Trying to hide from the media, but not really

According to the report, Jake and Dakota “made a show” of arriving and leaving separately at the LA club, but once inside, they made few attempts to hide the nature of their relationship.

“Jake and Dakota were accompanied at their table by different people throughout the night - including the owner of the bar [that's] so inaccessible to the public that it doesn’t even have a name,” an eyewitness says. “They left the venue through separate exits, Johnson out the front and Gyllenhaal via a back door.”

Apparently, before going their separate ways, they looked at each other “as if they were getting away with something,” the same eyewitness says.

If that happened, they were obviously too quick to gloat in their victory: the word of their rekindled romance is now out in the open.
