Google unveiled its two latest smartphones, the Pixel and Pixel XL, at the start of this month and pre-orders for the phones went live soon after the official announcement. The phones will be released on October 20.

During the launch event for the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, Google announced that Live Cases would make a comeback. One day before the two smartphones are officially launched, Live Cases have landed in the Google Store.

They carry a rather hefty price of about $40, but come with the option for customers to personalize their cases for the Pixel or Pixel XL smartphones that they will start receiving soon.

Customers can pick from multiple units in the Artwork Live Cases collection, which allows them to pick from various images created by established designers. In addition, customers can choose the base design and then resize or customize the physical position of the artwork on the case.

Places Live Case collection ships in early November

Another collection offered by Google is the Photos Live Case family, which allows customers to upload an image, edit it in multiple ways and place it wherever they wish on the case.

The Places Live Case collection is useful for consumers who wish to have a case that represents their geographical position. They can pick any location on Google Maps, make adjustments to the visual style, and print the result on the case. However, units in this collection won’t start shipping until early November. Cases in the other two collections are ready to ship as soon as the order is processed and delays shouldn’t be experienced.

Google’s Live Cases are a neat way to customize its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, which come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, Google Assistant, and the best smartphone camera ever, according to the tech company. If that’s not enough, they have 4GB of RAM and Snapdragon 821 SoC as well.
