The personal assistant now provides info on your meetings

Cortana is one of the key features in Windows 10 and Microsoft's hard at work to improve it even more for people worldwide and today the company's announcing LinkedIn integration for the personal assistant.

In a blog post published recently, the Windows Team explains that Cortana was developed from the very beginning to be “a truly personal digital assistant,” and just like a real assistant, she has to provide you with detailed information about every single meeting.

So thanks to LinkedIn support, Cortana can look for more info about the people you are about to meet and display everything on your desktop to make sure you're up to date.

Microsoft explains how this feature works:

“[Meeting reminders] will get even more helpful with the addition of rich information about the people you are meeting with provided by LinkedIn and included in every meeting reminder. When you connect your LinkedIn account to Cortana, you’ll have access to information about people such as photo, job role and company, a link to their LinkedIn profile, and the ability to connect on LinkedIn directly from your Cortana meeting reminders.”

Currently being rolled out across the world

This feature isn't yet ready for everyone and Microsoft says that it's gradually releasing it for users across the world, which means that it could take a little bit longer until all Windows 10 adopters get it.

To set it up once it lands on your PC, launch the Cortana Notebook and connect your LinkedIn Accounts in the Connected Accounts screen.

When Cortana issues a reminder for a new meeting and a contact is mentioned in the description, the personal assistant automatically uses your LinkedIn account to search for more contact info, such as job role, company, and photo.

All details are provided by Cortana on your desktop, so after setting up your account, you have basically nothing else to do to get contact information.
