The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization trying to promote Linux and the open source ecosystem among IT professional, computer manufacturers, and enterprises, has announced two important upcoming Linux events.

LinuxCon Japan 2016 and ContainerCon Japan 2016 are two of the most anticipated Linux conference events in Asia, promising to bring together top experts from all over the world, including but not limited to kernel developers, system administrators, IT industry leaders, community managers, and last but not least users.

The entire schedule is now online, and among the keynote speakers at the upcoming events, we can mention renowned Linux kernel developer Greg Kroah-Hartman, The Linux Foundation's Vice of Strategic and Developer Programs Chris Aniszczyk, Hyperledger Project's Executive Director Brian Behlendorf, and R&D's Vice President Ibrahim Haddad.

Additionally, we will be able to enjoy fantastic keynote speeches from David Marr, Vice President at Qualcomm, Gil Yehuda, Senior Director of open source standards at Yahoo, and Jim Zemlin, Executive Director at The Linux Foundation, who will talk about the latest innovations in cloud, containers, and OpenChain technologies, open source software compliance and adoption in enterprise companies.

Linus Torvalds will be present, as expected

Linus Torvalds, the father of Linux, will be there as well. Once again, Intel's chief Linux and open source technologist Dirk Hohndel will have a fireside chat with him about the latest innovations in the Linux kernel, security, and embedded devices that power today's IoT (Internet of Things) infrastructures. This will be a follow-up to their previous chat at the Embedded Linux Conference and OpenIoT Summit 2016 events.

LinuxCon Japan 2016 and ContainerCon Japan 2016 conferences are sponsored by some of the biggest names in the industry, including IBM, SUSE, Red Hat, Google, Hitachi, Renesas, EMC, Igalia, and LPI-Japan. The events will take place July 13-15 in Tokyo, and an early registration fee of US$350 is now available for early attendees who register before May 31, 2016.
