14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is expected to unveil its latest flagship phone on March 29, but some say that the Galaxy S8 might make an appearance during MWC 2017, in a one-minute video. Renders and live pictures of the phone surfaced online and gave us an idea of what the phone might look like.
Instagram user DesignWoOS created a batch of Galaxy S8 images based on recently leaked schematics. The images take into consideration rumors regarding the phone’s design, especially the fact that both variants will come with a dual-curved display and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
There’s no physical home button in the front, the smaller bottom bezel now seems to accommodate the Samsung logo, while a second logo is featured on the back, below the rear camera and fingerprint scanner. Rumors say that the 5.8-inch display on the Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch one on the S8 Plus could cover 83% of the front panels.
Galaxy S8 in multiple color variants
The images clearly reveal a USB Type-C port on both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack, although some reports say that Samsung might ditch the latter. The two phones are said to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC and feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The battery capacity inside the Galaxy S8 might reach 3,000mAh, while the Galaxy S8 Plus could draw power from a 3,500mAh battery. Samsung is also expected to feature Bixby, its new AI virtual assistant which will support up to 8 languages.
Iris scanners are expected to be featured on the new phones and they are said to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Another element that appears in the images is the smaller rear camera bump, compared to previous Galaxy S models and the Note 7. The images also show the Galaxy S8 in multiple colors, including black, red, blue and green.
