Some of you might remember that we reported back in September about a new cloud-centric smartphone called Robin.

Developed by ex-Googlers Tom Moss and Mike Chan, co-founders of Nextbit, the smartphone was made possible by a very successful Kickstarter campaign.

The good news is Robin is now available for pre-order worldwide for $400 outright. Customers will be able to choose between a GSM or CDMA model, depending on the carrier they wish to register with.

In addition, Nextbit also offer consumers the option to choose between two color options: Mint and Midnight. Additional color options might be available in the future, but that depends on how well the smartphone will sell.

Speaking of which, if you decided to pre-order the Robin, then you should know that pre-orders will start to ship beginning February, 2016.

Shipping fees vary by country

Robin is an unusual device in the fact that it comes with 32GB storage onboard, but also offers users an additional 100GB in the cloud for free.

Aside from that, Robin offers quite decent specs such as 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Also, the smartphone sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, which features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.

Nextbit's Robin features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel shooter.

It comes with dual front speakers and a 2,680 mAh battery inside. The smartphone runs the latest version of Android operating system and packs fingerprint sensor, NFC (Near Field Communication) and quick charging technology.

Nextbit is also selling a quick charger for those who want to take advantage of this feature. It costs $10 and can be ordered from anywhere in the world.
