Steven Shiau published a new development version of his popular Clonezilla Live project, version 2.4.2-41, which incorporates multiple new features, updated components, and various bugfixes.

According to the changelog attached at the end of the article, Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-41 comes with upgraded components based on the upstream software repositories of Debian GNU/Linux Sid as of August 18, 2015. It updates the live-boot package to version 4.0.2-1.drbl5, providing support for PXE booting via NIC (Network Interface Card) eno*.

Moreover, it is now possible to enable an NIC eno*'s configuration in the ocs-live-netcfg component, and white spaces will no longer be present at the end of opt_content in the add_opt_in_pxelinux_cfg_block in drbl-functions, which promises to reduce the chance for Linux kernel to incorrectly parse boot parameters.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Aug/18)," says Steven Shiau, Clonezilla Live and Gparted Live developer, on the release notes for the Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-41 unstable build.

The Debian mirror has been updated

In addition to the changes mentioned above, Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-41 fixes a bug with the "-C" option, which failed to pass to the partclone command-line utility in the ocs-onthefly component when the "-icds" option was being used for GUID Partition Table (GPT) disks.

Moreover, the Debian mirror in drbl-ocs.conf has been updated from "http://httpredir.debian.org/debian" to "http://http.debian.net/debian," and /EFI/debian/grubx64.efi was added in the known_efi_boot_file_chklist function of the update-efi-nvram-boot-entry component.

You can download Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-41 right now from Softpedia, where the project is distributed as three different Live CD ISO images supporting the 64-bit and 32-bit (PAE and non-PAE) hardware architectures, but please try to keep in mind that it's a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
