14 DAY TRIAL // The iPhone X is projected to launch early next month, and while everyone awaits the moment Apple kicks off the pre-order program, more photos show the device in the wild in San Francisco.
While until now we’ve seen lots of pics showing the iPhone X being tested by what were believed to be Apple engineers, the majority of the shots were more or less blurry in the form of spyshots, as the people who took them clearly didn’t want to be noticed by the alleged owners.
But today we finally get a couple high-quality photos with the iPhone X courtesy of a reddit user who discovered the device being used once again in San Francisco.
There’s nothing too surprising in these photos, other than the iPhone X itself, which many redditors believe that it looks better in real-life than it does in Apple’s marketing materials.
“Confidential Property”
As you can see if you zoom in on the first picture, the iPhone X comes with a notice below the home bar that reads “Confidential Property,” along with a phone number that’s believed to belong to Apple Security team.
This means there’s a good chance that Apple indeed offered these devices for testing to some of its employees, though it’s surprising to see so many people using the phone in public. This is a strategy that doesn’t sound at all like Apple’s, but the company might have adopted a different approach for this anniversary model, possibly in an attempt to increase the buzz before the official start of sales.
As many redditors noticed, the iPhone X units spotted in the wild never come with a case, and while some speculate this could be an Apple strategy to show the world the design of the device, others believe it’s because they are test units belonging to Apple, so physical damage isn’t critical.
For what it’s worth, the iPhone X goes on sale on November 3 in the United States, and several sources claim very limited supply is likely to be available at first. This means only the luckiest of you might actually be able to purchase an iPhone X next month.
