We have some good news for you if you're a Chromebook user, as Google has added a bunch of goodies to Chrome OS, which you can try right now from the Canary experimental channel.

Chromium evangelist at Google François Beaufort recently shared details about several new features that have been added to the Chrome Canary experimental channel for Google's Chrome OS operating system for Chromebooks, including a brand-new wallpaper picker, support for exporting passwords, and a revamped keyboard shortcut viewer.

According to the developer, Chrome OS is getting an all-new wallpaper picker that promises to let Chromebook users quickly select a different wallpaper from the vast selection of newly added wallpapers, as well as from your downloaded photos, which the new wallpaper picker will show at a glance in the "My Photos" section.

On top of that, the brand-new wallpaper picker comes with support for the tablet mode. Chromebook users using the Chrome Canary experimental channel can try it out right now by enabling the "chrome://flags/#enable-new-wallpaper-picker" flag in settings. Don't hesitate to check out the screenshot gallery below if you want to see the new wallpaper picker in action.

Exporting saved passwords in Chrome OS to text (.csv) files

Another goodie coming soon to Chromebook users is the ability to export all your saved passwords in Chrome OS to a text file in the .csv format. This will allow you to easily import them into the built-in password manager the next time you migrate to a different Chromebook. The feature can be found in Settings, under the "Saved Passwords" 3-dot menu, clicking the "Export passwords…" entry, and it's already available in the Chrome OS Dev channel.

There's also good news for Chromebook users with multiple tabs opened in Chrome, as Google recently added support for displaying favicons for websites even if you resize the window or if there's not enough space in the TabStrip. This feature is currently present in the Chrome Canary experimental channel.

"If you have plenty of tabs opened, it can be hard to spot the tab you want as when tab width becomes less than the favicon width, the favicon is dropped and the first letter of the text label is shown. Fear no more! Chrome Canary now shows favicons even if clipped when there's not enough space in the TabStrip," said François Beaufort on Google+.

Last but not least, Google has updated the keyboard shortcut viewer in Chrome OS with the ability to search for keyboard shortcuts directly from the main window. The revamped keyboard shortcut viewer is now available in the Chrome Canary experimental channel and can be enabled with the Ctrl+Alt+/ keyboard shortcut, but it will be changed in a future update to Search+/.
