He is not interested in his sex symbol image, says report

Once he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Chris Pratt’s star was bound to shoot up. The fact that he got his own blockbuster with “Jurassic World” shortly after confirmed it: he was one of the hottest young actors of the moment, what industry people call a “hot commodity” in Hollywood.

Pratt had a modest start in showbiz, and because he’d been the “funny guy” for years, it seemed difficult for him to ever become a leading man, an action hero and a sex symbol. He’s all of that today, which means he’s also in a position to dictate the terms of his new jobs.

Chris Pratt won’t do love scenes because of his faith

Pratt may be one of the hottest actors on the scene right now, making the ladies swoon whenever he steps on a red carpet, but he’s very much taken. He and comedy actress Anna Faris met in 2007 and started dating shortly afterwards.

They got engaged in 2009 and married that same year; in 2012, they welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, who was born prematurely. As per his own admission, the birth helped Pratt “restore [his] faith in God,” as he and Anna turned to prayer to help them deal with the situation.

According to the National Enquirer, Pratt is refusing to do love scenes because of his faith: he may be a Hollywood hottie, but that’s not because he meant it that way.

“It’s not the public image he wants to project - and it’s not something he sees as compatible with his faith!” an insider is quoted as saying. This could come as a disappointment for some of his fans, but it is unlikely to negatively affect his career.

Chris Pratt will be ok, racy scenes or not

At the end of the day, as long as Chris Pratt manages to put butts in the movie theater, he will be able to ask or refuse to do certain things that he deems not essential to the character he’s playing.

Right now, he’s enjoying a lot of success by playing the slightly nerdy, strong, handsome and funny action hero, so he will probably stick to this routine for as long as it works. If so, he could get away with refusing to do racier scenes for years to come.

In addition to “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic,” which have turned out to be among the most successful releases of all time, Pratt is also said to be in negotiations for “Indiana Jones.” There is heavy interest to bring the franchise back, with or without Harrison Ford, but definitely with a younger face.
