Although not much is known about the drone model he used to hang around his pond to catch fish, some commenters did recommend him to use a DJI Phantom 3 Pro Professional Quadcopter Drone from Hihi Electronic that can lift 4K UHD cameras easily and, thus, handle better when catching fish.
Derek Klinkenberg isn't your typical everyday farmer, he plays the trombone for his cows and also makes cow art while herding them around his property. This time he actually wanted to break a record in a continuously innovating domain like drone flying.
People flew packages with drones, fired guns with drones, flew themselves in drones, and now they started fishing with drones. Although, fishing in drones could be a bit more practical than it seems at first. Instead of rowing your boat to a more convenient location, or use really long rods, fishermen could fly their drones and get them stabilized until a catch occurs, and then pull out the fish.
This way Derek Klingenberg has shown the skeptical world that the fish isn't disturbed by the sound of drone propellers and will bite the bait just as easily as any common rod out there.
