Since IFA 2015 prompted a lot of major corporations to flex their accessory and mobile computing muscles, Lenovo's Motorola didn't stand by and delivered what it promised a few days ago, namely a new smartwatch.

However, the new Android Wear smartwatch from Motorola doesn't come in one version but two, the Moto 360 and Moto 360 Sport. The new smartwatch models have larger lugs that make it easier to remove the wearable device’s bands, allowing you to swap whatever wrist band your heart desires, like leather or metal bands, in order to suit your needs.

The second-gen Moto 360 watches come in 42mm and 46mm sizes for the designs aimed at men, and there is also a 42mm model for women. You can customize colors and patterns of the case, bezel and band in the Moto Make utility, and you can also choose the default watch face that will greet you when you first turn it on.

The larger men models feature 400mAh batteries that offer up to 2 days of life, and the smaller Moto 360 watches have 300mAh batteries for up to 1.5 days of runtime. The new watches will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor, which can be found in almost all Android Wear devices, while featuring 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, 802.11b/g/ WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.

Fancy, colorful, with pretty common features

Just like any respectable smartwatch, the new Motorolas will have ambient light sensors, optical heart rate monitors and motion sensors for step counting, among many other things. In order to not have the external materials or the inside circuits damaged by excessive sweating, the Moto 360 Sport will be available with a range of sweat-resistant plastic bands. The display will be designed to be viewed easily both indoors and outdoors, and this model has GPS for tracking your progress while riding your bike.

Pre-orders for the new Moto 360 have already started, and the smartwatches should begin shipping around October for prices ranging between $300 (€267) and $430 (€382), depending on the design.

Motorola has not yet disclosed the pricing for the Moto 360 Sport.
