pepperflashplugin 23.0.0.207-1 and cups 2.1.4-3 have landed

Neofytos Kolokotronis of the Chakra GNU/Linux team reported the other day that users of the Linux-based operating system need to tweak their installations after installing the cups 2.1.4-3 and pepperflashplugin 23.0.0.207-1 packages.

These two updates have landed in the software repositories before any other major updates because they require manual intervention from the user. First off, it looks like Chakra GNU/Linux users will have to add their Chakra user to a new lpadmin group to make CUPS work properly after installation, with the "sudo gpasswd -a USERNAME lpadmin" command, where USERNAME is your Chakra username.

"We are separating the update of these packages from the rest that will follow because changes in their packaging means that their update needs to be handled manually by users," said Neofytos Kolokotronis. "In order to be able for users to add and remove printers without needing root rights, we had to add a new lpadmin group. If you encounter problems please report them on the related issue on gitlab."

Here's a workaround for the Pepper Flash Player update warning

On the other hand, if you install the Pepper Flash Player plugin to enjoy Adobe Flash content on Chromium or similar web browsers, including Vivaldi and Opera, you'll have to force the installation or update by running the "sudo pacman -Sy pepperflashplugin --force" command. This is required because Chakra GNU/Linux devs have changed the upstream source from Google Chrome to Adobe.

Again, if you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to report them using the URL mentioned by Mr. Kolokotronis above. Besides the new CUPS and Pepper Flash Player updates, it looks like the LibreOffice 5.2.3 office suite landed as well, so make sure that you update your Chakra GNU/Linux installation as soon as possible to resolve the issues mentioned above before numerous other important packages land next week.
