Great news for Android fans in Europe, as French company Archos announced a new range of affordable smartphones: Cobalt and Power.

The new lineups of Android smartphones will be launched on the market in the coming months, but the first four devices will be showcased at CES 2016 trade fair.

Archos 50 Cobalt will be available for purchase in April for only €99 ($110) while the Archos 55 Cobalt Plus has been priced at €149 ($160) outright.

The other two smartphones, Archos 40 Power should go on sale in May for €50 ($55) while the Archos 50 Power will cost €130 ($140).

All four Archos smartphones come preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, but don't expect any Marshmallow updates for these cheap devices.

Moving on to specs, Archos 50 Cobalt sports a 5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution, while Archos 55 Cobalt Plus comes with a much larger 5.5-inch display with similar HD resolution.

Both smartphones come equipped with 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6535P processors, but the former packs 1GB of RAM while the latter comes with 2GB RAM.

All come with Android 5.1 Lollipop, but can we hope for Marshmallow?

The same goes for internal memory, as Archos 50 Cobalt has 8GB of storage, whereas the Cobalt Plus comes with 16GB of space. Both smartphones pack microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

It's also worth mentioning Archos 55 Cobalt Plus features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2-megapixel camera in the front while the Cobalt 50 comes with an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a modest 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Last but not least, Archos 55 Cobalt Plus will be powered by a 2,700 mAh battery, but the Cobalt 50 comes with a much smaller 2,000 mAh battery inside.

The cheapest smartphone among the four is the Archos 40 Power, which comes with a small 4-inch display (480 x 800 pixels), 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, and 1.2GHz quad-core Spectrum SC7731C CPU.

Also, Archos 40 Power packs a 5-megapixel camera on the back, 2-megapixel camera in the front and a small 1,900 mAh battery.

The last smartphone announced by Archos, Power 50 features a slightly larger 5-inch HD (720p) display and a much better 13-megapixel camera on the back.

Archos 50 Power also includes a 3-megapixel camera in the front, 2GB RAM, 16GB of storage and a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor. A massive 4,000 mAh battery will be packed inside as well.
