CCleaner has just received another update that comes with several improvements, including some refinements that are specifically aimed at Windows 10 users.

Now at version 5.23, CCleaner continues to be one of the most popular system optimization tools, mostly because it offers a wide array of features coupled with support for the majority of Windows operating systems still on the market, including Windows 10.

And today’s update makes things better for those who have already installed Microsoft’s latest operating system, as it brings improved Microsoft Edge and Internet cache cleaning, as well as updated Edge tab cleaning.

In most of the cases, cleaning Edge browsing history is not such a difficult job, but CCleaner comes with an automated solution that’s also very effective, so everything’s working smoothly thanks to this new update.

Other improvements in the latest version

Additionally, CCleaner 5.23 includes improved Firefox history and session cleaning, as well as updates for various translations and minor bug fixes and refinements here and there, so the general performance of the app is likely to be slightly improved after installing this new update.

The biggest question right now is “do we still need system optimization tools like CCleaner?” It goes without saying that Microsoft has improved Windows with every new release to make it more stable and reliable on the long-term, so while some of these apps were previously useful when trying to keep a system in tip-top shape, they are now more useful for cleaning PCs and removing unnecessary files.

Similar tasks can already be performed on a Windows PC manually if you know where to look, but on the other hand, software like CCleaner offers an automated solution that also includes some other small optimizations.

So, in the end, such apps are still worth a try if you’re in the mood for doing everything manually, but don’t expect a huge performance boost after installing it.
