AMD and the Radeon Technologies Group are planning to release the Radeon Crimson Driver on November 24, or at least this is the latest rumor.

It’s difficult to follow this rumor and to determine whether it can be trusted or not, but it looks like it’s quite plausible and it’s been picked up by other publications as well.

The new Radeon Crimson Driver is a new piece of software from AMD that will replace the old and tired Catalyst. This is part of the bigger campaign that has been started by AMD with its Radeon Technologies Group. This is supposed to put a lot of emphasis back on graphics and PC GPUs, in an area where Nvidia is clearly dominating the market.

One of the biggest issues that AMD is facing right now is the lack of a cohesive driver policy for the Radeon GPUs. The old Catalyst drivers are no longer up to par, and the company is falling really behind Nvidia, at least in this regard. Their answer is the launch of Radeon Crimson Driver, which is a combination between a driver interface and a new control interface that includes even settings for games.

When is the Radeon Crimson Driver coming?

According to information published on zolkorn.com, which claims exclusivity on this matter, the Radeon Crimson Driver will be released on November 24. This is not actually inconceivable since the guys from Radeon Technologies Group already said that they intended to launch it before the end of the year.

AMD really needs a win right about now, and users of Radeon GPUs are waiting for this new driver with great interest. It also means that there are many expectations for the Radeon Crimson Driver, especially since it’s launching in one of the busiest Novembers we’ve had in a long time.
