Cara Delevingne may be the hottest model around right now but she won’t settle for anything less than an exceptional career in movies as well. She is making her debut to leading actress with “Paper Towns,” another movie based on a best-selling novel by John Green, he of the tearjerker “The Fault in Our Stars” fame (which has also been turned into a film).

The film is now out in selected theaters and Delevingne is on the promotional trail. She hit a major bump in it some hours ago, with an appearance via satellite on Good Day Sacramento, when she ended up annoying the anchors.

Cara seems bored, irritated

You can see the awkward exchange in the video below.

It started off with a simple question, one that is often asked of actors who star in big screen adaptations of books: did Cara read the book? Instead of taking the question for what it was, meaning a customary ice-breaker, she seemed to find offense with it and replied with sarcasm that she hadn’t even read the script when she showed up on set, let alone the book.

The hosts then asked her how she managed to find time for all these new projects, since she must have her hands full. As noted above, Cara is a very in-demand model and she’s also getting started in acting and is said to be pondering a career in music as well.

She liked this question even less and responded in the same sarcastic manner, which, in turn, seemed to irk the anchors.

At one point, one of them tells her that she seems “less enthusiastic” about the project than it would be expected of her, and irritated.

Hosts mock Cara on and off the air

She tries to defend herself but has little success in convincing the 3 anchors that she is only slightly sleepy, but just as excited about the film as she was the night before, when it had its big premiere.

By this time, the 3 hosts are already tired of her, and they cut her off saying, “We'll let you go then, how about that? We'll let you go and take a nap and maybe have a Red Bull.”

Cara rolls her eyes and the transmission is cut off, but the hosts continue to mock her for the camera. They even include a bit where her photo comes up and there’s the sound of an angry lion added.

It could be that Cara was irritated with the interviewers from the start, but it could also be that her dry sense of humor got lost during the satellite transmission. She has a reputation for acting like a brat when she’s supposed to be a pro, but this doesn’t look like the case.

On the other hand, there’s also a strong possibility that the 3 anchors on the show jumped to conclusions in deeming Cara too uninterested and annoyed by the interview, and in proceeding to openly mock her.
