Canonical's community manager Alan Pope recently put out a call for community members to test the upcoming Release Candidate (RC) ISO images of the Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) operating system.

The final release of Ubuntu 17.10 is expected to hit the streets next week on Thursday, October 19, 2017, and Canonical needs community's help to test the Release Candidate ISO images that they'll publish on Monday, October 16, on the official ISO tracker for Ubuntu, and probably a few other flavors.

"We need your help to test the many ISO images generated by Ubuntu and all the flavours, especially the final RC images, typically due on Monday 16th," said Alan Pope in the announcement. "We’re having an UbuntuOnAir hangout on Monday 16th at 15:00 UTC to run through what needs to be done for successful final testing."

Kubuntu 17.10 and Lubuntu 17.10 also join community ISO testing

Maintainers of the Kubuntu and Lubuntu official Ubuntu flavors also announced today on Twitter that they'd be joining the community ISO testing movement, asking users to keep an eye on the ISO tracker on Monday for the Release Candidate images, in an attempt to make sure Kubuntu 17.10 and Lubuntu 17.10 are bug-free.

Make sure you bookmark this article or the YouTube video below if you wish to participate in the community ISO testing for the upcoming Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) operating system and opt-in flavors. However, please keep in mind that starting with Ubuntu 17.10, 32-bit installation images of Ubuntu are no longer supported.

As of Thursday, October 12, 2017, Ubuntu 17.10 entered Final Freeze stage of development, which will last until its final release on October 19. This means that only critical security vulnerabilities and bugs will be accepted in the repos. So go out and test the RC images of Ubuntu 17.10 if you want to have a bug-free release.
