On July 27, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak sent in his daily report informing us all about the work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in the last couple of days, as well as to apologize for a regression introduced by the Ubuntu Touch OTA-5 update.

According to Mr. Zemczak, today's biggest news is that the Ubuntu Touch development team decided to release a hotfix for the OTA-5 update published last Monday, July 20, 2015, in order to patch a nasty regression in the telephony functionality of the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system that occurred on Nexus 4 devices after disconnecting Wi-Fi.

"Today we also decided to do an OTA-5 hotfix re-spin for mako devices, fixing the huge regression in telephony when wifi is disconnected," says Łukasz Zemczak. "We already prepared and released the mako image for the community channel (ubuntu-touch/stable/ubuntu( - the bq-aquaris.en mako devices should get the same update tomorrow morning. We apologize the inconvenience!"

Therefore, all Nexus 4 (mako) users who run the latest Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system are urged to update their devices to the OTA-5 Hotfix release published on July 27, 2015 on the usual "ubuntu-touch/stable/ubuntu" community channels.

It would appear that users of the BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition smartphones are also affected by the major telephony regression introduced in the OTA-5 update, and a patch will be released later today, July 28, 2015.
