It's been three months since the major Calligra 3.0 release hit the streets in mid-January, and it now received its first point release to fix the various issues reported by users lately.

Calligra 3.0.1 was released on April 17, 2017, and while it may not yet be available in the stable software repositories of your favorite GNU/Linux distributions, we can tell you about the changes implemented by the hard working development team behind this open-source office suite targeted at KDE users.

A total of 26 bugs were addressed in the Calligra 3.0.1 maintenance update, and among those that caught our attention, we can mention the ability to always display shapes in the "Add shape" docker in the same order, as well as respect the container boundaries when moving shapes using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

The shape manipulation handles were removed from Calligra when the tool is not enabled, formatting of scientific numbers has been improved in Sheets, as well as the saving and loading of cell borders, and Plan's month calendar should now be correctly displayed for Work & Vacation.

Chart receives the most attention in Calligra 3.0.1

The component that received the most attention in Calligra 3.0.1 is Chart, which can now save and load legend alignment flags, as well as axis label font family and size. However, it won't save axis labels if they're not visible, and ensures axis fonts QFont size is kept in sync with the KCharts fontSize.

Axis dimensions are now translatable, undo command was added for displaying and hiding titles, as well as for adding or removing axis, margins and spacing are now respected, resizing is now handled in a reasonable way, and moving of chart components is now limited to chart boundaries.

Of course, a bunch of crashes were fixed as well, so we recommend that you check out the full changelog attached below if you're curious to know what exactly was changed in Calligra 3.0.1, whose source tarball you can download right now from our website if you fancy compiling the office suite on your Linux distro.
