Video game developer Treyarch and publisher Activision are aiming to deliver a big list of changes for the coming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but it seems that they have no plans to take advantage of the new cross-platform play options between the various platforms on which the title will be offered.

The information comes from Twitter as an answer to a fan question, and it is clear that the companies have other priorities at the moment.

It might be possible to get cross-platform play into the Call of Duty series at a later date, especially if the fan base asks for it and the involved companies can make sure that there are no differences in performance across devices.

With the coming Windows 10 launch, Microsoft is saying that a number of titles that will arrive on both the PC and the Xbox One will include the feature, although no full list has been offered.

Streaming for all video games is enabled at the moment for all those who have a home console and a device that includes the new operating system.

Sony and Capcom have also said that gamers will be able to enjoy cross-platform play between the PC and the PlayStation 4 versions of the upcoming Street Fighter V.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 aims to deliver moments of brilliance

David Vonderhaar, who leads the team working on the shooter, says that the new title will offer choices that the player can explore, and they will deliver unique and spectacular sequences.

These moments of brilliance will be linked to the new specialists that are part of the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Gamers can choose whether to unlock a special ability or if they want to use a powerful special weapon.

Depending on how each player constructs their character, they will be able to surprise their opponents in new ways.

Treyarch is aiming to make the shooter faster and more dynamic than other installments in the series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft, and more limited versions of the shooter will also be offered on the older home consoles from the two companies.
