Video game developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have been satisfied with the results they have been receiving from the beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that is currently running on the PlayStation 4 and are celebrating the coming weekend by adding a range of new content for players to enjoy.

The official Twitter account of David Vonderhaar, the design director working on the project, says that the new game elements will be introduced at around 10 AM Pacific Standard Time today.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will receive a new map, called Stronghold, as well as a mode called Uplink, which was created to appeal to those who like competitive elements and was also part of Advanced Warfare.

The game developer also says that the level cap is being increased to 34 from 28 in order to give more options for character development to those who have been playing a lot of the beta.

The current maximum level for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 test period was reached by about 10 percent of the player base.

Presumably, the same content will also be part of the beta period on the Xbox One and on the PC, which is set to be launched on August 26.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 makes big changes to the multiplayer

The beta contains all the new elements, including the Specialist characters and their unique characteristics and the extra customization options created by Treyarch.

For those interested, we have a more comprehensive set of impressions about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta, which explain how important the new movement system is to the experience.

Treyarch says that it will gather a lot of data from the testing period and is encouraging all involved players to express their opinions and talk about the mechanics they would like to see improved.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and older consoles on November 6.

The current testing period is important because it allows the development team to see how the core mechanics of multiplayer behave when a lot of players have access to them.
