The San Diego Comic Con event seems to be a good place for video game developer Treyarch and publisher Activision to offer details about the future of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, including the Juggernog edition and more information the Shadows of Evil undead powered campaign.

The two companies are also revealing that they are partnering with Omaze, a charity fundraising platform, in order to give fans a chance to become a zombie in the first-person shooter, as long as they are ready to donate some money.

The entire sum that will be raised will be given to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization created by Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, which is designed to offer funding for other organizations that help veterans to find jobs after they leave the service.

The publisher is also saying that it is matching donations coming from fans, dollar for dollar, up to a total of 1 million dollars (900,000 Euro).

In order to become a zombie in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gamers need to donate 10 dollars or more (9 Euro or more) until August 31, which gets them access to 100 entries for the draw.

The winner will be part of a DLC for the shooter, will have lunch with Mark Lamia, the leader of the development team at Treyarch and will get to take part in a big behind-the-scenes tour of the studio.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 offers a look at both the future and the past

The most exciting elements of the coming title are that it will aim to portray two very different periods and will deliver a solid range of varied gameplay mechanics.

The single player campaign and the competitive multiplayer will be set in 2065, with features like genetic enhancements and the evolution of robotics influencing the way soldiers can take each other out on the battlefield.

Meanwhile, the Shadows of Evil cooperative campaign will take place in a noir take on the 1940's and will incorporate a lot of cliches about the period, with some of the characters power apparently monstrous in nature.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and older home consoles and can be played starting on November 6.
