The Nielsen consumer research company is saying that the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the first-person shooter from developer Treyarch and publisher Activision, is the most anticipated multiplatform video game launch of the fall, according to its Game Rank.

The organization surveyed more than 4,800 gamers between the ages of 7 and 54 during August 24 and September 19 of this year, and then compiled the results in order to see what experience they are most interested in for the holiday season, when sales tend to spike as buyers get games both for themselves and as gifts.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has a ranking of 98 percent and is followed by Fallout 4 from Bethesda, which comes in at 95%.

The final position on the Nielsen podium belongs to Assassin's Creed: Syndicate from Ubisoft.

Other titles that gamers are anticipating for the coming months include Need for Speed from Electronic Arts, Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE and EA, Rise of the Tomb Raider created by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, and the recently launched Rock Band 4 from Harmonix.

It's interesting to note that these are the only titles that score over 70 percent, which suggests that only big companies can afford to spread awareness of a title they are delivering among a wide number of potential gamers.

Each home console has its own performers

When it comes to titles that are exclusive to one platform, gamers are interested in getting access to Halo 5: Guardians, which has a 100 percent rating on the Xbox One.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is attractive for those who have a PlayStation 4, which underscores the relative lack of exclusive titles from Sony for the coming months.

On the PC, gamers are interested in getting access to the Legacy of the Void release for Starcraft 2, the game that's supposed to close the narrative of the series for the moment.

Nintendo has managed to make Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and Yoshi's Woolly World attractive for those who own a Wii U, while 3DS fans will get The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.
