14 DAY TRIAL // Today, July 8, 2016, Calibre developer Kovid Goyal has been proud to announce the release of Calibre 2.62 ebook library management software for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X.
It looks like the Friday weekly releases of Calibre are back, and Calibre 2.62 is here to add a couple of new features, as well as to fix many of the annoyances reported by users since last week's Calibre 2.61 update or previous releases.
The most important feature of Calibre 2.62 is support for the newest Kindle Oasis e-reader model that has started shipping today. So if you receive your new Kindle Oasis device this weekend, you'll be able to connect it to Calibre to upload your books.
The second major feature introduced in Calibre 2.62 is support for reading and writing of EPUB 3 specific metabata. Calibre is now capable of generating EPUB 3 metadata constructs when processing these types of files, such as series.
Bug fixes, new and improved news sources
Among the bug fixes, we can notice that it's now possible for users to create a split tags rule using space as a split character, as well as to use upper case characters in the Tag Mapper component, and improve sorting by name or count in Edit Book -> Reports -> Characters.
Furthermore, Calibre will now allow owners of Kobo Touch e-readers to safely migrate their configurations for older settings, several new Russian news sources have been added, and The Skeptic news source improved.
