14 DAY TRIAL // It seems that Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, has made up her mind about whether she wants to be dating men or women, now that she completed her transition from male to female.
Caitlyn is documenting her journey on the new docuseries I Am Cait on E!, which shows how she’s adjusting to her new life and to her new status of LGBT “hero.” Earlier on in the series, she was telling her girlfriends that she didn’t know whether she would want to date a man or a woman, swearing that she’d been attracted to women all her life.
As it turns out, she might have had a change of heart, according to a new preview released for this week’s episode. Caitlyn wants to date a man, but only because she’d be attracted by the idea of having a man treat her like a “real woman.”
You can see the video below. Caitlyn is talking to one of her friends, also a trans-woman, who tries to make her understand how bad it is for her to look to establish self-worth by dating a man.
“It’s a thing that women do. We look to men to give us self-worth,” the pal says. “I think now that you’re in the sisterhood, you have gone through such trouble to become a woman. Don’t be a stupid one. Be a smart one.”
Obviously, the chat cuts off before Caitlyn gets to say anything back. Skeptics who see in her docuseries, as brave and original as it might be, just another Kardashian product that doesn’t reflect a reality but a scripted fantasy for the real person, probably imagine what will come next: Caitlyn’s first outing with a boyfriend.
