She wants judge to keep private information sealed

Caitlyn Jenner started her transition earlier this year and she’s ready to make everything official: she’s filed the papers asking a judge for a name and gender change. Caitlyn was born Bruce and is the first celebrity to make their transition in the public eye, as a means to raise awareness on the issues trans-people and LGBT members deal with on a daily basis.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Caitlyn is still at the receiving end of death threats, so she’s asking the judge to grant her the request of keeping all private information sealed.

Caitlyn Jenner wants medical information kept sealed

Caitlyn has been getting a lot of support since she started her transition, which she highlighted on the E! docuseries I Am Cait, but she’s also been getting negative feedback. It seems that it’s been bad enough for her to want to keep certain private details out of the media by asking the judge to make her case a sealed one.

She explained this in the papers filed with the LA County Superior Court, asking for a legal name and gender change.

“She's received threats of physical harm and she's scared if she has to give up personal info such as medical history, it will escalate,” TMZ reports. “Caitlyn is asking the judge to keep the private information sealed, but as for gender and name change, it's full Steam ahead.”

Caitlyn continues to advocate for LGBT causes

While this legal issue is being solved, Caitlyn is looking forward to taking a breather from the public eye. She will continue to advocate for LBGT issues, though, she says in her most recent blog post.

Also there, she tries to undo the damage she did in her first TV appearance since the transition, last week’s chat with Ellen DeGeneres (video below), in which she seemed to imply that she wasn’t 100% supportive of the idea of gay marriage.

In the aforementioned post, she talks about how suddenly being a part of the LGBT community helped her understand the serious and sometimes life-threatening issues its members were facing daily, and how important it was for them for her to speak up for marriage equality.

Her full message, titled “What I’ve Learned” and conceived as a summary of her experiences on I Am Cait, is available at the link in the paragraph above.
