The development team at Bungie is gearing up for the launch of the big The Taken King expansion, and it seems that going forward, players will also see an effort to improve the communication process with fans from the studio in order to make sure that their feedback is taken into account as fast as possible.

Sage Merrill, the senior design lead, explains to Weekly Update that his team has been focusing on the actual mechanics of the game and on improving them as quickly as possible.

He adds, "I tend not to prioritize external communication, and that is unintentionally reflected externally to the community. I’m here to tell you that we're going to try and make it better. Although it may not be obvious, we are watching and monitoring the community very closely."

Merrill explains that there's no way to fix problems that gamers notice and talk about them instantly, and that Bungie will often have to take time in order to make sure that it does a solid work.

Regular updates and more sandbox details about Destiny are planned for the coming months, even as the finishing touches are being implemented for The Taken King.

Merrill says that making Blink less frustrating to fight against is one of his priorities at the moment.

Destiny 2.0 will deliver a massive weapons-focused balance update

The new expansion for the shooter will be accompanied by a solid patch that will improve many mechanics.

Bungie has offered an extensive look at the changes that will be made to weapons, which will target both the base stats of the various categories and the exotics that gamers tend to use in the Player versus Player engagements.

The Taken King will focus on the new boss named Oryx, who is coming back to the solar system in order to take out the Guardians who have killed his son Crota.

The big new raid will be accompanied by a story structure and many smaller strikes and new activities for the Crucible mode.

Bungie is also opening up a new area, the Dreadnought, and a variety of weapons and items will also be offered for all Guardians, linked to a new level cap.

The Taken King for Destiny will be delivered on all platforms on September 15.
