The Sleeper Simulant is the first delivery of many

Over the past week, a range of players who have been exploring all the nooks and crannies of Destiny were able to get access to a powerful new weapon called the Sleeper Simulant, which is one of the surprises that the development team at Bungie has added with the launch of The Taken King.

A number of members of the community were not satisfied with the fact that a lot of time and energy dedicated to the social shooter was required in order to get access to it.

The development team at Bungie says that it is happy with the way the launch of the Sleeper Simulant affects the player base and wants to improve the delivery of such surprise weapons and items in the coming months.

Tyson Green, a design lead, explains on the official site that "When we try new things, players often teach us a lesson about how to do it better, and this one has us thinking hard about how Quests communicate their availability. Our challenge is balancing between the secrecy that makes these hunts exciting, and transparency that could spoil the fun for the hunters."

The company adds that The First Firewall will be re-introduced to Destiny soon, which means that more gamers will have a chance to try and get the Sleeper Simulant.

Bungie is introducing microtransactions on October 13

The development team is using a new in-game entity called the Eververse Trading Company as a chance to buy thirteen new emotes using real-world money and a Silver currency.

The new content is entirely cosmetic and will not give players any sort of advantages in the shooter.

Bungie says that the new microtransactions are carefully calibrated and that all gamers will get some Silver in order to try them out and see whether they like them or not.

The new business model for Destiny means that future content for the shooter will be introduced for free, with the studio apparently planning to add more missions and quests every few months.

Bungie will also work on more updates based on player feedback, with 2.01 set to be deployed next week with a range of changes, including weapon tweaks.

A Destiny 2 experience is expected to be launched in the fall of 2016, but the development team has not talked about it officially.
