LG saved Mobile World Congress 2017 for a single smartphone, the G6. One month earlier, during Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the South Korean handset maker introduced a couple of cheap Android smartphones in the K series.

The 2017 LG K7 and LG K8 were announced back in January, but only made it to market last month when they hit the shelves in India. Today, Hardwareluxx reports that both smartphones are available for pre-order in Russia for $150 and $185, respectively.

However, it appears that there are some differences between the Asian and European versions of the smartphones, but the overall performance of the devices shouldn't be affected at all.

The main difference between the European LG K7 2017 and the Indian model is the fact that the former comes with a MediaTek chipset inside, while the latter packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor.

Aside from the 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU, the new LG K7 that's now available for pre-order in Russia includes 1GB of RAM and only 8GB of expandable storage.

Also, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and autofocus, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front.

Surprisingly, the LG K7 2017 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The budget-friendly handset sports a 5-inch display that supports FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution. Lastly, the phone is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery and offers 4G LTE support.

Next in line, the LG K8 2017 has a similar 5-inch display, but this one supports HD (720p) resolution. On the inside, the phone packs the same 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.

A slightly better 13-megapixel main camera is featured on the back side, along with a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Just like the K7, the LG K8 2017 drains energy from a 2,500 mAh battery.

It's worth mentioning that both smartphones ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.
