14 DAY TRIAL // Meeting Princess of Pop Britney Spears for the first time and having her introduce herself with her now-famous line “I’m Britney, [B-word]!” would be a fan’s dream come true, but a nightmare for a possible employee. This was exactly what Neil Patrick Harris was counting on for his latest prank.
For his NBC show Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, he got Britney Spears to agree to prank guys applying for a job as her bodyguard. He also enlisted the help of his “second favorite Jonas brother,” Joe Jonas, for the prank to be as funny as possible.
Neil and Joe took out an ad and sorted through applicants, narrowing them down to just 3. These 3 they took to meet Britney, while they made sure they fed her whatever lines they wanted her to say, with the help of an in-ear piece.
The result was very funny, from Britney introducing herself to one as “the one and only Britney Spears” and extending her hand out and expecting him to kiss it, to having another look for a dangerous object in a room she was supposed to perform (it was actually a potted cactus), and to asking all three to “stay close” to her during her dance routine.
One of the guys actually managed to keep up with the choreography, which probably means he would have gotten the job as Britney’s bodyguard, had the ad been for a real position. Check it out.
