14 DAY TRIAL // Bristol Palin has a big announcement to make, but she’s not doing it because she wants your lectures or sympathy: she’s only doing it because it’s the best way of getting ahead of trolls who would be on to the truth in a very short while. She is pregnant.
Bristol, the most famous of former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin’s children, has another child, also out of wedlock. The family is very traditional, which is why the fact that Bristol’s both children were conceived outside of marriage is making so many waves.
She knows it, too.
Keep your judgment and your sympathy for yourself
In a post on her official blog, which you will find in full below, Bristol starts the announcement by saying she’s sharing the news with her fans because she wants to be the one to break it to them, and not the “trolls” who might spy on her and pick up a hint of a baby bump.
She doesn’t say anything about who might be the father of the baby, but she says a lot about knowing that the pregnancy will come as a disappointment to many, because she obviously didn’t practice what she preached.
She places her faith in God and chooses to believe all will be alright in the end.
“I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you,” she writes. “But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy. My little family always has, and always will come first. Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.”
Since she’s got God by her side, she wants people to keep their judgement or their sympathy for themselves, because she doesn’t need either.
A surprise wedding cancelation
Last month, shortly before she was supposed to walk down the aisle with US Marine veteran Dakota Meyer, Bristol called the whole thing off.
She didn’t offer the detailed reason for her decision, but rumor has it that he cheated on her many times and she eventually found out before the wedding. The betrayal had been so severe that she simply couldn’t forgive him.
Bristol doesn’t say if Dakota is the dad, but she will probably reveal the identity of the father after the birth or even sooner.
The Tripp she mentions in her statement is her first son, conceived when she was still underage. She and Levi Johnson, the father of the baby, broke up a few months after the birth, and she continued to maintain abstinence was the best birth control and that it should be practiced before marriage.
