BlueStacks has been around for a while as the best way to run Android applications on Windows computers, but a recent update not only makes this a lot easier but has also introduced new features that significantly improve the experience on a desktop.

First and foremost, BlueStacks 2 now comes with a revised interface that looks fresh and modern and gives you better control over installed apps, while also letting you download new ones faster.

Then, it’s the multitasking feature that allows you to run two or more apps at the same time thanks to tab support.

“App Player now acts more akin to a Browser interface, allowing users to play multiple apps at once. Keep your messenger running in a tab while you take a stab at new games. Play an app while another is downloading ... the possibilities for use are endless,” the parent company explains.

The original features still remain available, so BlueStacks comes with camera integration, Windows native graphics support, microphone support, quick access to simply double-click an APK on the desktop and launch the app, virtual sensors, and developer test support.

Probably the best thing is that BlueStacks works on pretty much all Windows versions out there, so if you’re still on Windows XP, for example, or if you’ve already upgraded to Windows 10, the app will still work smoothly on your computer. It doesn’t even matter which Windows version you have because BlueStacks 2 supports all of them. At least 2 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage space are, however, required because, in many cases, applications might require additional system resources to run properly.

And of course, it’s completely free, so if you still can’t decide if it’s worth a shot or not, just download BluetStacks 2 and see what it’s up to.
