US-based handset maker BLU Products has just announced the upcoming availability of a new affordable smartphone in India, the Life Mark.

BLU has a constant presence in India, but its devices are struggling since native OEMs are putting the pressure on the competition. The new Life Mark offers decent specs at an affordable price, but it won't be available at all major retailers across the country.

According to a new report, BLU Life Mark will be exclusively available in India via Amazon for just Rs 9,000 ($130 / €120) outright. It's not yet available, but it's expected to hit shelves sometime next week.

The Life Mark will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, and there's no telling whether or not BLU will offer a Marshmallow upgrade since this is smartphone aimed the budget segment.

Fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE are the highlights of the phone

Specs-wise, BLU Life Mark is far from being impressive, with a single exception maybe, the fingerprint sensor. Other than that, the smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720p) resolution display that features BLUE Infinite View Technology.

On the inside, it comes with a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Naturally, the Life Mark comes with dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.

BLU Life Mark boasts a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone packs a fingerprint sensor on the back side, right below the main camera.

Last but not least, the affordable smartphone is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery, which hasn't been rated by the manufacturer yet.
