US-based handset maker BLU is specialized in cheap Android smartphones, but as one of Microsoft's partners, the company also launched a few Windows Phone handsets.

Two of them, BLU Win HD LTE and BLU Win JR LTE, have proved to be pretty popular among Windows Phone fans. BLU has its products up for sale in many countries, but India wasn't one of them until recently.

The good news is Indian customers looking for cheap Windows Phone handsets can now add BLU's smartphones to the list of possible choices.

The company has announced that two of its Windows Phones, Win HD LTE and Win JR LTE, will be available for purchase in India beginning this week.

Potential customers should be aware that these smartphones are exclusively available for purchase via major retailer Snapdeal.

It's also worth mentioning that BLU Win HD LTE has been priced at Rs 7,999 (€110 / $125) outright, while BLU Win JR LTE can be had for Rs 5,999 (€85 / $95).

They will be upgraded to Windows 10 later this year

Both handsets ship with Windows Phone 8.1 right out of the box, but BLU has confirmed that these models will receive Windows 10 Mobile upgrades soon after Microsoft releases the new operating system this fall.

In terms of specs, both smartphones are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processors coupled with Adreno 306 graphics processing units and 1GB of RAM.

On top of that, they come with 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

However, the BLU Win HD LTE sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, while the Win JR LTE features a slightly smaller 4.5-inch display with 480 x 854 pixel resolution.

Customers in India will be pleased to know that both BLU Windows Phone handsets offer 4G LTE and dual-SIM support.
