The studio is just now looking for programmers

Blizzard intends to follow the current trend of remaking old games in HD, and it looks like StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II are going to get this special treatment.

Who would have thought that remaking HD games and reselling them all over again would be a wise financial choice? Well, from the looks of it, studios and publishers who still own the rights to some of the old games understood the desire of the community to play old titles.

A simple remake that just enables people to start an old game on new computers is no longer enough, and now gamers want HD remakes.

Blizzard is now planning to bring some HD love for some of the older games like StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II. All of these have remained in the consciousness of the public as great games, and you can play them today with modern PCs.

Blizzard was careful to keep them functioning, and this is not a problem right now, but the studio is now looking for capable people that can help them build the HD remakes they are planning.

Who wants to play some Diablo II HD?

If Blizzard manages to pull this off in a timely manner, it will be great day for the gaming community. On the other hand, they are just now looking for programmers, so it will take a long time until we see the games release and ready to be played. Here is what they are looking for.

"Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done," reads the official job announcement.

There is no timetable for these projects, but it seems unlikely that anything will happen until the end of 2016, at least. Blizzard tends to be a perfectionist studio, and they don't do things just for the sake of it.
