14 DAY TRIAL // Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, considered the Brangelina of country music, have ended their 4-year marriage. He filed the divorce papers about 2 weeks ago in Oklahoma and a judge just signed off on them, which means they are legally done.
Blake and Miranda married in Texas in 2011, after 6 years of dating, and have had to weather plenty of cheating speculation in their short marriage. The rumors picked up a lot of traction over the past year, which is also when they stopped denying them.
“This is not the future we envisioned”
Though they were always very talkative on social media about their personal life and their relationship, Blake and Miranda have been keeping very mum on the topic in recent weeks. Perhaps that should have been the first sign of trouble fans could have picked up on.
In a joint statement, the two confirm the split, saying, “This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
TMZ notes that the divorce went through so quickly because there’s a shorter waiting period in Oklahoma and because the two agreed immediately on post-divorce arrangements. The fact that they had a prenup made the proceedings much smoother and uncomplicated.
Miranda breaks down in concert
The same media outlet also dug up the video below, of Miranda performing at the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming over the weekend, about 2 days before the divorce became final.
She was performing “The House that Built Me,” a song Blake wrote and gave to her, which she turned into a hit. She started crying and could hardly continue singing, so she asked the fans to help her out in finishing the song.
E! News says that she wasn’t wearing her ring. Blake, on the other hand, stepped out for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the other day, and he was wearing his. He also seemed in much brighter spirits than her now-ex-wife.
For the entire duration of their marriage, Blake and Miranda often had to issue statements denying rumors of infidelity on Blake’s part. Because Miranda seems the most affected by the split right now, not few are those who have rushed to the conclusion that he was to blame for the split, by cheating on her again.
