The Venice will be the company’s first Android device

People have been getting excited about the mythical BlackBerry Android Slider ever since rumors related to the purported device started getting more serious. BlackBerry hasn’t openly admitted it was working on an Android device, but the slider running on Google’s mobile platform dubbed Venice leaked in the wild a number of times.

We’ve already seen the Slider pop up in numerous live images, which all had one thing in common: they showed a device rocking a classic black or white paint job.

But what if BlackBerry decided to spice things up a little bit in terms of coloring options? To answer the question, you can check out these sleek renders of BlackBerry’s upcoming Venice Slider in several vivid colors, including Blue, Purple, Red and Silver (as seen at CrackBerry).

It’s not very likely that BlackBerry will adopt these bold coloring options in real life, but we can only hope. One thing is certain, though: the renders look pretty gorgeous, highlighting what appears to be a screen curvature on both sides, in the vein of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. However, it doesn’t seem the edges are spacious enough to accommodate any edge-like functions. Sorry, BlackBerry fans.

BlackBerry Venice should launch soon

According to the numerous leaks we have seen so far related to the BlackBerry Venice, the device should make a debut with a 5.4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that offers support for QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels).

On the inside, the slider is rumored to come equipped with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, as in the case of the LG G4 and soon to be unveiled Nexus 5X. BlackBerry will also throw in 3GB of RAM to help with the SoC’s endeavors.

Moreover, the Venice has been confirmed to arrive with a 18MP main photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording. We also know that the handset will take advantage of several Microsoft apps and services, including Skype and Bing.

We don’t know how much built-in storage the BlackBerry Venice will have, but it appears that the phone will feature a microSD card slot (located on top of the phone and not on the side, just like the SIM tray) for memory expansion, which is pretty good news.
