BlackBerry has just updated its PRIV-only Android apps and insisted on announcing the new features these apps bring into the mix in a comprehensive blog post.

First of all, if you own a BlackBerry PRIV, you should expect new updates for the following apps: DTEK, Keyboard, Hub and Camera.

These key apps for BlackBerry PRIV received many new features and improvements. For example, DTEK now has more notification options to alert PRIV owners when apps use their info.

With the latest version of DTEK, users will be able to turn on all notifications for all apps at once. Also, developers added the ability to turn on notifications by information type, including location, microphone, camera, and other personal info.

The Keyboard app that comes pre-installed on the BlackBerry PRIV now features increased language support. The latest update brings prediction and correction for up to 3 similar languages at the same time.

Improvements have been made to Fine Cursor Control, including the use of the Touch Keyboard. BlackBerry also added the option to have emojis added to predictive typing, but also the ability to use Shift key to toggle number row to show symbols in password fields.

PRIV owners can now shoot 16:9 photos, WhatsApp has been integrated into Hub

BlackBerry PRIV's Camera application now supports 16:9 photos. Moreover, the overall speed and performance of the application have been improved. Last but not least, there are new pre-capture indicators for HDR and Low Light photos included in the update.

The last Android application updated by BlackBerry, Hub & Contacts, now features WhatsApp messaging support. With WhatsApp notification integration, users will be able to view notifications of new chat content from this application directly in the Hub.

Keyboard shortcuts for “next” and “previous” message transitions have been implemented too, along with the ability to change the order in which conversations are sorted.

Developers also improved content sync for email and text messages, as well as attaching content from integrated cloud providers.

BlackBerry PRIV owners should start checking for these updates since the Canadian company confirmed the new apps have already been uploaded on Google Play Store.
