There have been rumors regarding new Android devices coming from BlackBerry by the end of this year. More specifically, it is said that the company will release three Android-running BlackBerry smartphones, codenamed BlackBerry Neon, Argon, and Mercury. Now, new information has surfaced, suggesting that the company will talk about the new devices next week.

The information comes from Crackberry, which reports that BlackBerry CEO John Chen refused to discuss smartphones during the BlackBerry Security Summit, which took place in New York. The executive didn't wish to focus on handsets and said that the company offered much more than that.

He stated that BlackBerry was becoming a strong professional services provider and that the company's smartphone business was doing fine. Chen added that they would discuss upcoming smartphones next week, as announcements would be made by BlackBerry COO Ralph Pini, who is also the General Manager for Devices.

BlackBerry is said to launch three smartphones by the end of the year

BlackBerry is expected to release the Neon smartphone running Android OS in July or August. The phone could come with 3GB of RAM, Snapdragon 617 processor, 16GB of storage, and a 2,610mAh battery. It would also have a 13MP rear camera and come with 8MP on the front.

The next smartphone is BlackBerry Argon, and it is said to sport a 5.5-inch QHD display, together with Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The device could also have 32GB of internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0. BlackBerry Argon would incorporate a fingerprint reader and USB Type-C. Rear camera on the phone could ensure 21MP, with an 8MP unit on the front. The handset could come in October.

BlackBerry Mercury is the last phone to be launched by the company this year, and it will be the only one to have a physical QWERTY keyboard. The device could pack a 4.5-inch full HD display and Snapdragon 625 inside.
