November might be one of the most important months for BlackBerry since the Canadian company plans to launch its first ever Android smartphone, the Priv.

The Priv is not only the first Android handset launched by BlackBerry, but it could also be the last smartphone launched by the Canadian company, according to John Chen.

If BlackBerry Priv doesn't sell as well as the company needs, then BlackBerry might exit the smartphone business in the next couple of years.

Anyway, the BlackBerry Priv has been built to include some of the latest technologies available in the mobile market, which is why we expect the device to be priced accordingly.

In fact, this might be one of the most important aspects about BlackBerry Priv, which will have to compete with other flagship smartphones like Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6s, and many others.

The Priv could be the last smartphone launched by BlackBerry

In this regard, popular leakster @Leaksfly claims BlackBerry Priv will be priced in China at CNY 3,999, which is about $630 or €555.

However, it's common knowledge that smartphones are usually priced lower in China in comparison with other markets.

That being said, we expect the Priv to be priced slightly higher in the rest of the world, but not by much. The handset could cost around $650 outright in the United States and €570 - €580 in European countries.

BlackBerry Priv is expected to boast a 5.4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone will be equipped with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit, and 3GB of RAM.

It will pack an 18-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, Schneider-Kreuznach optics, OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front.

Obviously, BlackBerry Priv will be powered by the Android Lollipop operating system, but it will also come with some BlackBerry apps and services.
