Canadian company BlackBerry has just announced it has done some major improvements to its BES12 solution and has now released a new version for customers.

BES12 version 12.2 includes major enhancements such as government and security advancements for BlackBerry 10 devices, as well as an improved admin experience.

But the most important improvement is the fact that BlackBerry has managed to expand BES12's multi-OS capabilities. The solution integrates with Samsung KNOX, Android for Work, BlackBerry Secure Connect Plus and Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP).

With the latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge including Samsung's KNOX security solution, customers will now be able to use BES12 to manage these devices.

Basically, they will be able to deploy Samsung Galaxy devices with KNOX in a work and personal mode as well as Workspace-only mode.

BlackBerry continues to improve its multi-OS solutions

As mentioned earlier, BES12 supports Android for Work, which means that customers will benefit from enhanced security, simplified management and an open platform for innovation on Android devices.

With the latest version of BES12, you will no longer need to wrap every app, as the new solution provides users with access to any Android app available on Google Play that is permitted by an organization's IT policies.

But BES12 also supports Apple DEP, which make it easier to enroll corporate-issued iOS devices. BlackBerry's enhanced security solution enables IT admins to securely manage many iPhones and iPads easier and faster, by enabling supervised controls OTA (over the air).

“Enterprises need comprehensive EMM to streamline management of disparate mobile devices, applications and content being deployed across their organizations to meet the diverse needs of users.

“By enhancing its multi-OS capabilities and services with BES12, BlackBerry is creating better user experiences as well as more value for customers that are looking for flexibility in their mobile environments,” said Bob Egan, CEO, Sepharim Research Group.
