The phone is said to be released on October 11

BlackBerry is expected to announce a new smartphone, the DTEK60, although news broke a few days ago that the company would stop manufacturing phones. There's quite a lot of information available on the upcoming smartphone, seeing as specs and images have leaked recently.

Rumors say that BlackBerry will announce the upcoming DTEK60 on October 11 in Canada for an estimated price of $530. It seems that online retailer NCIX launched pre-orders for the DTEK60, although BlackBerry has yet to officially announce the phone.

NCIX lists the DTEK60 at a price of $699.99 ($535), mentioning at the same time that he phone will arrive around October 11 and that the price is subject to change, according to CrackBerry. Customers won't be charged for the smartphone until the manufacturer confirms the estimated time of arrival.

The DTEK60 is also listed on DirectDial for a lower price

NCIX isn't the only retailer to list the newest phone by BlackBerry. DirectDial also created an entry for the phone on its website, but the retailer didn't provide any pictures and only mentioned that the phone would be coming soon. The price seems to be lower on DirectDial, $656 CAD ($499.70).

BlackBerry's upcoming DTEK60 is expected to have a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution. It might also feature a rear camera capacity of 21MP with phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and HDR. The front camera could be 8MP and the phone might run a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, with the option to expand to 256GB.

The upcoming smartphone is said to draw power from a 3,000mAh battery and it could include multiple connectivity options like 4G LTE, USB Type C port and Bluetooth 4.2. The DTEK60 might run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and it will surely come with BlackBerry Hub and its suite of productivity apps.
